Nesma Holding and the Emirate of Makkah Province to Establish Sewing and Embroidery Factories
Nesma Holding signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Emirate of Makkah Province, in the presence of the Deputy Governor of Makkah region, Prince Badr bin Sultan Al Saud.
The agreement aims to follow a joint work plan between the two parties to establish sewing and embroidery factories in Makkah Province.
The centers will promote female employment by offering opportunities to women who otherwise would have very limited employment chances, in keeping with Nesma Embroidery’s social vision to have a factory in every village in Saudi Arabia.
It is also noteworthy that the agreement marks the 10th anniversary of the project: Nesma Embroidery and Tailoring Center started operations in 2009 by focusing on hiring female employees with speech-and-hearing disabilities, and then expanded to villages while maintaining disability-friendly workspaces.
